WHEN THE LIGHT FORGOT ME
they took not a second glance
didn’t wait for the judgment to balance
the scale tilted, a jealous shift
hatred bursting in with a fast swift
hopes and dreams whisks away in perjury
testified against me for penury
minutes and hours left in hopelessness
none showed kindness
dawn refused to cast his vote
sunrise fumes how much she loathe
if hope is gone, where is tomorrow?
so sad, no overmorrow
they all forgot my existence
just because help took her stance
if air had played ball with them
my lifeless self would be tangled on a hem
everything followed suit when light forgot me
now I eat ashes for a meal
days numbered, no light in my soul
vision blurred, dark like coal
