THE LAST PLACE HOPE LIVED
she left without a warning
unprecedented act that left its flame burning
gone too soon in this perilous state
humanity will go to waste
the stars wailed silently
galaxy stood gallantly
the essence of existence has perished
our favorite has gone, the most cherished
peace stood bewildered
shattered trust, ground littered
the end is here, humanity in retrograde
as she’s gone, life will succinctly fade
the last place hope lived has been severed
time stopped, dumbfounded in reverse
curses rings, clouding the sky
a terrible way of getting by
hope is demised, dead and gone
epitaph glaring, songs left with the sun
light refused to outshine darkness
such distinct pain none can harness

DeleteSome losses leave a silence that even the universe cannot explain. The imagery in this piece beautifully captures the devastation of losing someone whose presence meant so much, as though the world itself has lost its light. The pain, the disbelief, and the emptiness are deeply felt in every stanza. A powerful reminder that some souls leave footprints that time can never erase. Beautifully written. 🖤🥀
