ONE BY ONE

 

without further ado, they began to leave 

one by one without grief 

heartily rejoicing without words 

they’ve finally filled their voids 

thousands became hundreds 

knowing fully well I am a kindred 

but they left me for good 

oh dear, I was the fool 

my magnanimity was trampled upon 

my sanity feels like it’s on furlough 

I am the architect of my own failures

see them all going, necessary traitors 

for they weigh me down and butchered 

me, my bones and muscles unclustered 

tell me how do I retract, how do I reprimand 

for they all stick to a docile command 

one by one they gathered on my grave 

spits on my name at the conclave 

how do I escape the enemies claw 

although I have my own flaws
