LET THERE BE CARNAGE

 

like bible pages, we are not holy and religious 

familiar faces becoming anonymous 

a paradigm shift so catastrophic 

tell me why my heart still remained philanthropic 

the world has no memory 

billions living in abject poverty 

terrorism funded, nukes in sight 

our sanity has long taken flight 

a simple hello could become fatal 

a smile could be lethal 

actions and intentions are concealed 

it’s best you always recede 

enemies within and without 

your death is closer than your spouse 

‘I love you’ brings a soothing damage 

let there be carnage 

too many pain caused by a few 

unrepentant soul seated on a pew 

the church houses daredevils 

harbingers of evil 

my madness, your temptation

our acts, gross arbitration 

humans… a periodic walking germs 

who should be cut off like stem
