SCREAMS IN THE WALL

I’ve seen and witnessed too much

these days, I only opt for brunch

I am only human, want to live normal

my existence questions me abnormal

I hear screams in the wall

lost souls trapped between brawl

hope lost, they… traumatized

unknown location they can’t acclimatize

in rotation, they meander

a gravity force pulling my soul to surrender

depart from me, I have no business with the dead

why me? Why thread

their cries reeks of shriek

drains my spirit, makes me weak

I am not a god, just a pitiful being

I hate spotlights, leave me behind the scene

I never signed up for this cause

I have my own problems and clause

let me be, let me breathe

I am a beautiful garden, don’t infest with weed

I’ve seen and witnessed too much

these days, I only opt for brunch

I am only human, want to live normal

my existence questions me abnormal

  1. This poem beautifully captures the weight of witnessing too much pain while still longing for a normal life. The imagery of “screams in the wall” is haunting and powerful, and I especially like how the speaker rejects being seen as a savior and embraces their humanity. It feels like a raw reflection on trauma, empathy, and the exhaustion that comes from carrying burdens that were never yours to bear.
