FATE OR LUCK

 

is it fate or luck

that I was the fastest swimmer as sperm 

an incredible feat for my life span 

then i was born with a distinct fate 

which still attracts so many hate 

is it fate or luck 

that I escaped the jaws of death 

my heart in that instance melt 

I know it will catch up with me someday 

but I have triumphed today, just today 

is it fate or luck

the world has no pity for blackness 

this skin color has given me so much to harness 

but I am segregated despite my brilliance 

so much happened in an instance 

is it fate or luck 

that I was born in Africa 

especially in a country called Nigeria 

where our leaders are nothing but inhumane vampires 

they are only there to loot and acquire 

is it fate or luck 

that I am still alive despite the hurdles 

lots are six feet with the earth in cuddles 

more are dying each day but I am standing

for how long will my destiny keep pretending  

is it fate or luck

that despite it all, I am fated to die 

success is hard to come by

my breathe was freely given 

a steady blessings giving to only the living
