DEAR LITTLE ME

 

dear little me

the world is cruel I know 

but you have been born with a purpose 

carve a niche and don’t follow the crowd 

lest you ensnare your own soul 

dear little me

take a look at yourself 

your reflection, see the naive you

not knowing you have a long way to go  

your day of winning is close by 

dear little me 

your emotions will always take the best of you 

your thoughts, a battle ground for bloodless war 

always think deep before you utter 

your words may lead you to the guillotine

dear little me

hearts are meant to be broken 

yours will never be the first to bleed

do not go hurting others as payback 

the damage spreads round like wildfire 

dear little me

it is okay to give in and give up 

but don’t neglect that you have come a long way 

get up and give it a second try

your breakthroughs might be around the corner 

dear little me 

the world is a leech, it keeps taking 

if you’ve got too much, keep giving 

make yourself a mighty tree to feed others 

that is your first divine purpose 

dear little me 

It is okay to cry sometimes 

you are a product of emotions like your mama

do not bottle up pains in your heart 

it might cut short your life 

dear little me 

everyone you meet has a lesson for you  

learn with caution and take precautions

for you are new to the world 

pray for grace always without ceasing 

dear little me

our love is never enough 

seek the face of God and he will bless you  

then your divine purpose will be accomplished 

and you will become that which we prayed for
