A DILEMMA
my shoulder wishes it could carry it all
balancing weights lest I fall
a burden strapped on my soul
a perturbed river ceasing to flow
“row your boat alone” the world chorused
no morale in their words, just many curse
in this wrath they call solitude
no help rendered even in their multitude
depression rides me like rodeo
I’m helpless, don’t wanna listen to their audio
“you are a man, no dey whine yourself”
“you don too hustle, na you dey gawk yourself”
I’m thorn in between faith and fate
everything I now detest, everything I now hate
no one sees the battle I wage within
my sanity has been chopped down with a scythe
now I’m broken and deterred
the world gives no room for regard
even in the mirror my reflection troubles me
a dilemma instilled in me for real
