JUST TELL ME
the weight is always on my naive shoulder
my shoulder so lite and fragile
bleeds but the red is unseen
yet still, it harbors more and more weight
“but you are a male”, you’d say always
kicking me off my innocence
fueling my ego just to boost my strength
please, I have emotions too
the society canonizes use after our demise
even saying we should have done better
maybe our best isn’t best enough or rather worse
don’t forget water and blood runs in my veins
“get up and join the rat race” they yell
ignoring our weak and pathetic state
forgetting we are the weakest among all creations
a king only have his staff as authority
you know our end is always near right?
our lives shortens when we are pushed beyond limits
can’t we just be cuddled and pampered accordingly
we deserve it too, I mean all the love in the world
few efforts appreciated
no one respects you until they see results
hard work that has sent scores of men to early grave
the grave has swallowed men with dreams and aspirations
men are the price, only few are woken to this
we are the goal, the tasteful salt untapped
insipidity of water nature craves for
we are nothing but a clean breathe
please just tell me I am a man
then I’ll die in my silence
no man is genuinely celebrated
despite his legacy and landmarks
