DEAR SON

Dear son,

it’s me, a nobody you sprang out from

I am saddled the responsibility to tutor you

adhere strictly to these words

the world has no memories son

they easily forget good deeds in no time

just be good for no cause

don’t be nice because of the camera

in your veins resides my blood

when you shut your eyes, you’d see me

when you are lost, tired and confused

take a deep breathe and say a prayer

If you wanna cry, let it all out

they say tears is only for weak men, nope

holding it back corrodes your heart

always remember tears cleanses the souls

leave the table when your instincts whispers

never return to the cup of drink you left

trust no one, not even your shadow

life has no pity, words are weighty

be happy always

sadness and sorrows holds no grudges

they are harbinger and the destroyer of your soul

and they will shorten your lifespan

extend kindness and respect to the littlest person

honor the janitor same way as your superior

tables turn, time is tricky

pay attention to tiniest detail

I am old and I am young, son

time and tides waits for no man

never marry a woman because of your love

consider knotting the heart that loves you the most

I have seen great men fall

I have seen many destinies languishing in the grave

but I am yet to see a man fulfill all his ambitions

ride on life easy, do what makes you happy

always walk with nature

close your eyes in the woods and listen

free your mind when beside waters

you will receive answers beyond your questions

they will come for you someday

and ask “how do you do it?”

be careful when you reply

not everyone is happy fate smiles on you

be smart always and seek more wisdom

no one gets out of life alive

everyday has an already made design for us all

it now depends on which side of the cake we bite

despite my age, I have lived my life to the fullest

I wasn’t destined for this era son

but here I am, God’s precious gift

I knew I was blessed when I met her

I pray you meet the woman who loves unconditionally

I pray you meet your mother’s doppelgänger

if I have made wrong decisions all my life

God compensated me with your mother

I am blessed and loved, yes I know

your mother is the best thing that has ever happened to me

not everyone is this lucky though

take your time when it’s time to choose your half

Dear son,

it’s me, the man you call father

I am saddled the responsibility to tutor you

adhere strictly to these words
