FIRST TIMES

 

we thought we knew it all  

but it was never enough 

those actual moments 

that makes us love ourselves more or less

the first hug 

that made us feel butterflies 

the first peck 

that sent shiver down our spine 

the first kiss 

that made us smile sheepishly 

the first song 

that made us cry 

the first drink 

that made us tipsy as our head goes light  

the first night 

when we chose to deflower

the first dance 

that left us completely lost 

the first job

that gave us hope 

the first handshake 

that gave us assurance 

the first heartbreak

that made us helpless and suicidal 

the first hope

that left us shattered or whole 

the first “I love you”

that made us who we are today 

we thought we knew it all
