I AM AT SEA

 

I am at sea few times 

when I sit down to ponder what life is 

the ups and downs I battle to stay sane 

every adventure isn’t worth the risk 

these battles were never mine to be won 

I am at sea sometimes 

when I look back at the years I’ve wasted 

heart broken and eye fluids drained 

lovers come and lovers go with a core piece of me 

then I am left with nothing but a template 

I am at sea most times 

when I try to resist urges surging 

temptations befuddles my thoughts in anarchy 

me praying for grace to pass this phase 

it’s a shame I have to tread this lane 

I am at sea often times 

when life constantly gives me no option 

wanting me to make lemonade without lemon 

this cross I’m compelled to carry 

unreciprocated love I’m forced to marry 

I am at sea most times 

sleep helps me switch off reality 

the world only offers pains, torments and tribulations 

can you allow me to die in my sleep?

so I can dwell in my dreams in peace
