THE FAULT IN US

 

take a deep breathe, we are only human 

built with capillaries, bones, flesh and blood 

we are all filled with compounds and atoms 

totally bound to exhibit trait 

we all have certain distinctiveness 

which either makes us or mar us 

a cross we need to bear despite 

a burden we may need to carry all through 

our mind’s another world on it’s own 

a battle field to fight for sanity 

once our mind is befuddled with unholy thoughts 

we become vulnerable to the worst 

anger, lies, deceit, love and sadness 

are all part of our compositions

emotions gets the best of us 

making us vulnerable or defenseless 

people often take advantage of our naivety 

stripping us off our sanities 

crushing us beneath their envy, jealousy and lust 

ignoring our haemorrhaging soul

but, we are only human. we ain’t perfect 

we fall, we break

we rise, and… we fall again 

trust me, we are only human
