ALEA
but you promised to redeem us Alessandra
where are you?
you promised to free us captives
when will that be?
we waited in hopes unabashed
created your alter of worship in our head
incenses we’ve burnt all round the clock
knowing you’d accept such offering and follow through
where are you Alea?
you whose bravery gave us courage
your victories won had always been a generational tale
we need not think twice before rendering your praises
your name ‘the defender of the people’
we still believed in but…
where are you?
you’ve tarried too long to our rescue
our souls are already weary
our hearts are bleeding profusely
enemies who once trembles at the mention of your name
have built mockery now, whistling in tunes
do no wait too long to redeem us
our young ones have aged while waiting
our aged ones have bite the dust
be fast, our infants wails without comfort

Hmm it's like the promise of God's kingdom that's yet to come for those waiting to see it happen
ReplyDeleteYeah, you can say that again
