SOWETO, I STILL BLEED
you had a good fight for freedom
scores of lives maimed for your liberation
futures halted, souls crying for justice
blood flows on Mother Earth pleading for justice
they tried taking your land unnoticed
but you stood up so boldly
lives laid down to claim your soil
but here they are, they have forgotten your toil
but the rain came and washed away the tears
the sun came and dried away the past
come and see what Soweto has become
your beautiful history has been long forgotten
Soweto, I still bleed
black man nature still reeks
the pains and struggles of hero’s past
has been pulled down like a mast
you paved all paths with victory once
they’ve now relay it with curse
you ignited all hearts with burning love
they’ve put out the flames and cuff
this generation has desecrated your land
histories and traditions they have somewhat banned
your once upon a time pride they have ignored
they see themselves now as lord

This thread is amazing
ReplyDeleteIt reminds us of our leaders that fight for us
Yes it does, people who laid down their lives just for us to breathe fine now
