I GAVE TOO MUCH

 

the love I gave 

unending affections and care 

holding my breathe for others to breathe 

the love I gave, I gave too much

the attention I gave 

ignore mine just to focus on others 

always wanting the best for them

those attentions I gave, I gave too much 

the smile I gave 

brightening up people’s world 

I just can’t close my eyes while some people go depressed 

those smiles I gave, I gave too much 

the hugs I gave 

people needs assurance and reassurance 

some hands held thorns and pat me at my back 

those hugs I gave, I gave too much 

my future I gave to her

but she left me battered, ripped and sour 

now I have no heart to love again 

that love I gave, i gave too much
