NIGHTS LIKE THIS

 

nights like this 

we take a deep breathe 

heavies a sigh 

our hearts has taken so much hurts beyond us 

nights like this 

I made mad gestures and soliloquy 

don’t think I’m insane 

I’m only questioning my sanity 

nights like this 

we shed a tear 

not because of it’s dramatic  

but the enigmatic role life has placed upon us as actors 

nights like this we sing

not songs we know 

but songs that comes to our mind 

gibberish and jargons just to comfort our souls

nights like this 

I stare at myself in the mirror 

admiring my once upon a time beautiful skin 

life is a healer but a lousy beautician 

nights like this 

I wish I had a bride

not because I want to marry though 

just for recreation and procreation 

night like this 

I remain humble and quiet 

just to say requiem for my deceased loved ones

someday, I will also bite the dust 

nights like this 

We toast to the stars

on how long we’ve come 

what we’ve been through and what’s to come 

nights like this 

we raise our glasses and make a toast 

not to achievements or victory

but being sane in life’s pool of insanity
