REGRETS
he didn’t listen
to advices given to him when he met her
despite all the red flags shown to his face
he ended up ditched, she walked away
left him without remorse, without pity
but he raised his head one day and said
“I have learnt my lesson, I’ll be a better man”
she flagged down the taxi
sat at the back seat with her tear-laced eyes
taxi man offered her handkerchief as she burst into tears
she cried profusely without comfort at the back seat
the taxi driver didn’t utter a word but let her be
she knew she would never love again
a night to her wedding, he absconded with her best friend
like two peas in a pod they were
totally inseparable I must confess
one would see them and pray for their love life
they were just perfect, aura matched
but as life would have it’s own ways and plans
their genotype was no match when discovered
she cried profusely, his happiness faded away
if they dare get married, they’ll live in regrets
because he was rich, he flaunted
painted the whole town in red without consideration
committed atrocities without sympathy
believed so much he’ll get away with anything
he was told but he never listened
that the wages of sin is death
that he who kills with a gun will surely die by a bullet
his end was tragic, death didn’t regret taking him
careless driving was his hobby
written on his bus was “king of the road”
music blaring out loud from his damaged speakers
he sways side to side in rhythm to the music
“be careful” “be cautions” he has been warned thousand times
but he cared less, lord knows what is in his head
he ran over a ramp without a savior in sight
our ends should always build fear in us all
