AIR OF BROKEN DREAMS

 

she has always wanted to be a seamstress 

a brilliant and talented woman

but he messed up her dreams, he did

now she breathes the air of broken dreams

he was the future of their family 

a promising young lad, hardworking and focused 

he was robbed and shot one night while returning home

now he breathes no more… a broken dream

he lost his job, all his source of livelihood 

went into odd jobs just to keep his family together 

did multiple hustle without resting to make this dough

slummed one night… dead! gone! a broken dream 

he had always wanted to join the military 

but in naija, if you no get person, nothing for you 

he tried all his best to be picked each time 

he’s now tired of optaining DSSC form, this is the 8th time rejected

worked tirelessly just for the children to become someone

investing in their future as a good mother will 

believing someday they will pay back in multiple folds 

a broken dream, death is so cruel
