FOLLOW THE SUN

can we all go back to the sun

discard the manuals in our palms 

get the scrolls afresh to relearn 

we have a lot of purging to do

we’ve derailed a long time ago

forgot our essence on Mother Earth

We have destroyed and maim 

things we can’t even create 

we’ve tortured the soil

milk it’s honey dry 

as if that was never enough 

our fellow human breathe is worth snuffing 

we’ve polluted the earth 

incapacitate and destroy its natural habitat 

burned trees that contains histories 

even relics we choose to ignore irrespective 

the sea became a jacuzzi 

we ignore it’s sacred significance 

no wonder scores of lives drown each passing hours 

the waves and currents respects us no more

we tamed the birds 

caged them and made them only dream of flying in the skies

we kissed the eggs and scold the hen 

love being clothed and detest nudity 

we kiss a frog and call it prince 

pile stones on our necks and call it blinks

look down on a fellow being and call him poor 

stare at a beautiful tree but sees an imaginary furniture 

can we all go back to the sun
