ONE DAY

in secrecy you always do your things

hiding your devilish plans and keep concocting 

you forgot nothing is hidden under the sun

one day, you'll get caught 

you kneel always and pray to your maker 

exulting him, chorusing melodious panygerics

you pray to him in secret always

one day, your prayers will be answered for the world to see

you keep amassing wealth dubiously 

feeling fly as you take more and more from the poor

you think you'll live long and forever 

check your palm, can you see memento mori?

you toil and sweat everyday 

day and night you are diligent and kind

never fret, your days of harvesting is coming

one day, you'll rejoice 

you act always like you love them all

getting mad at little ones for no reason

you think you'll be a witch forever

one day, you'll cry but there won't be tears 

 

you feel strong, tough and energetic

feeling high as they hail you "Jagaban" 

standing tall and boasting you're deputy Jesus

one day, you'll crash and become bedridden

not every fight you must win

some may wreck you, others incapacitate you

why don't you sit back and rethink 

because one day, you may wake up no more

pushing hard and pushing through

we know you are hardworking, faithful and kind

life does not always feature in our future canvas 

one day you'll wake up and say

"wasted years of hustle, i still didn't make it"
