ONE HEAD CANNOT CARRY A ROOF

 many came and gone

despite their various struggles and tussles 

they bite the dust 

in the quest for freedom at all cost 

but for him, he stood at the center with spot light on

used his powerful tool to call out all the blood suckers

those we elected to sail our ship to serene harbour 

but they left it in the middle of the ocean to sink

fela used his beats to correct ills

calls out the looters names ignoring how they feel 

none of them could take a revenge 

cause the fight is of the masses to avenge 

he was arrested times without numbers

beaten and battered in all corners 

hey! why don't we sit and think

he fought alone while we ignored his displays with a wink

of cause you know one head cannot carry a roof 

we were only hailing him from afar standing aloof 

imagine if we have walked with him dedicated to the struggles 

we would all have been happier today watching our suds in colourful bubbles
