THE SIDE MIRROR

my mind enroutes to the past 

opportunities missed and underutilized

staring at my side for a glimpse 

the side mirror takes me back to memory lane 

thoughts and feelings I had once discarded 

regrets and miseries I wore

pains and bitterness that led me here

they all weigh me down now

even when I try to stare at the big screen in front of me

hoping the future will console me

a ray of light reflects from my side mirror

my past plays a fast one on me always

how could i ever let go

these moods that has set back again

everything feels brand new today again

memories will always get the best of us
