WHAT HAPPENED TO US?
once upon a time
we were all seated together
sharing gist and jokes
without fear of enemity and hatred
we would sit down in large numbers
speaking our hearts and minds out
without fear and resentment
all hearts were at peace
we share everything
without holding back anything
now what happened to us?
how come we easily drifted
what happened to when we all ate from a bowl
drink from the same cup
use the same towel
or perhaps suck water from the same tap
Hug ourselves emotionally
Shake without fear
Kissed a brother wholeheartedly
Patting one's back without torns
when we dance and bath in the rain
sleep together and cuddle
walk the same distance together
with our feet dirty
what happened I cannot say
is all hope lost? that is impossible
but one thing is clear I must say
humanity is in motion
we are slowly drifting apart

DeleteIndividualism happened, when theorist like Alexis de Tocqueville, Locke and others, teach that Individualism supersede communalism. We too after formal education gradually buy into that idea. Now we dey do, I no send up and down. Leaving our communal life of the Africans

Yeah, those theorist are right, nobody is wrong, but it's left for individuals to retrace back the sole reason why we exist. Note that everybody is right, nobody is wrong
