THE LOVE WE NEVER SHARED

the love we never shared

we left it in our hearts to rot

the hope we forgot to give another 

ignored them laying on their death bed

the kiss we never gave 

contemplating and cussing

the smile we held back 

just because we are weighed down

the hug we never gave

keeping it just to ourselves

the warm affection that comes with it

which is enough to heal a broken soul

the wink we refused to give

pretending there's dirt in our eyes 

rolling our eyes away from recipient

then feeling foolishly accomplished

the pat we ceased our hands from

ignoring that most important timing for it

the handshake we took for granted 

stupidly burying our hands in our pockets 

the gist we refuse to tell

the truth we held back

the emotional support we never gave

all these things maintains the balance for humanity
