PAUSE AND THINK

If you see your neighbor at the edge

almost falling from the ledge

no matter the hate you may or they have for them

just pause and think

how much hate could you have for your mother

you told me you never loved your father 

no matter what, they gave you life and bore you 

just pause and think

I know he broke your heart, just forget 

despite all the love you gave, he still walked away you said 

try remember that we are all broken

just pause and think

after Mass, he pulled off his cassock 

the temptation is now heightened as he pulled his sock

almost given in to that negative thought

just pause and think

you look down on everyone in your vicinity 

don't you know wealth is divinity

because you are at the top, everyone is noisy and befuddling your serenity 

just pause and think

they sat down by the road beside a pole

and you walked by taking a stroll

ignoring their begging without giving them a dough

just pause and think

you heard her voice faintly calling for help inside an alley

although it was dark, you couldn't see clearly

you decided to ignore leaving the scene

just pause and think

he was arrested and framed for murder 

you know he's innocent and you acted unbother

even if the victim was your daughter 

just pause and think

your neighbor had nothing to eat

you had too much and threw the leftover in the bin

staring at their children as they wince in pain

just pause and think
