QUIET TIME

I've gone a long way trying not to brood

I've tried all fun just to push you off my mind

but I still sink into my sofa

with tears soaking my pillow 

ask me where I go tonight 

I still go back today last year 

for we were perfect together

before the wheels got steered by my pride 

now I miss you

now I want you 

I can't have you 

you're not coming back, not even here 

now I've realized how foolish I was

listening to side talks forgetting how we began

you were so promising and full of life 

it's true "you'd never know what you've got unless it's gone"

now I'm back in my quiet times

brooding as I shed tears in my heart

you're not coming back 

I messed it all up
