IT WAS NEVER ENOUGH

Everyday we wake up to toil

We sweat all day to make ends meet

At times we vibe to unwanted rhythms 

But it's never enough

We speak soft and pretend to cough

We raise eyebrows and ignore those winks

We stare at reflections without deep thoughts

But it's never enough

We extend our hand to show kindness

We smile continuously to show love

Extending a soothing shoulders to the bereaved

But it is never enough

We put people's needs first before ours

Ignoring our own wants just to satisfy needs

Tying a knot at the end of our own ropes

But it is never enough

We play tunes for others to dance

Feeling fulfilled at the sight of their happiness

Slightly blushing as they sway to the music

Yet still, it is never enough

The enigma of life we can't comprehend

No matter our droplets it won't get to the brim

But In end we will understand the coda

That our love, kindness, compassion and kiss 

was never enough
