IN OUR UNWISDOM
in our unwisdom, 1960 was rather too late
For we hurriedly took the wheels
Ignored the baby's steps
Felt we were fully grown..... In our unwisdom
Plough the field
And scatter the good seeds on the land
We merried and giddy with joy
Thinking this is simply the perfect beginning.... In our unwisdom
Danced on a keg of gun powder
Blindly seeing the end of our beginning
In our unwisdom, we made hay at sundown
And resort to sleep at sunrise
We built faith in the faithless
Gave the freedom baton to the pirates
We were turned scavengers
By the savages who we thought were the avengers
And here we still are
Still savouring the palatable stench
From the flatulence of our indigenous captors
In my unwisdom
I visibly see the tables shaking in rumble
Soon to make a tumble
In our wisdom.. ..
1960 was rather too early for freedom

ReplyDeleteOnly God and each individual decision can help. I believe
Only God but we need to pull strings too
