AGONY OF A SOLDIER II
AGONY OF A SOLDIER II
we will and will always fight
For courses yet unknown to us
Grudges brought forth from ages past
Yet we battle on gallantly irrespectively
I was born in love and compassion
A product of emotions
Now my mental state is imbalance
Emotions? Battles fought takes it all away
Toes bled in greasy boot
Veins twitch in queasy mood
Uniform torn in lucid rampage
Yet we battle on in hopefulness
Lying on the earth in charades
Sickness becomes a close hobby
Rainfall comes lashing like sanda stick
All hail the microwave sun of the North
Transfixed in a docile position with a 3rd grade ammunition
Being in ambush for days
You dare not answer if Mother Nature calls
For you might get a body bag passport home
Continuous racking of machine bullets resounding in my brain
Yells of maimed bodies wails in pains
Blood gushing from ruptures in a gory sight
Dog tag left to identify a brother
Battle tanks shooting speriodically
Heads doff off their bodies like hats
Hot tears streams down my face
As Timileyin held his wedding pic and breath his last
His body goes rigor mortis slowly
Haemorrhaging through his bullet-pierced chest
Such a hole my fist can fix through
A hero gone too soon
Still on the battle field I remember
His newly wedded wife and expectant baby
What would be the reaction if told
That 'for better for worse' has gone worse?
Lots of delicate lives has been lost on the battle field
Body pieces, flung in the air like hands raised in hallelujah when stepped on mines
When will almost be considered enough?
Lord have mercy! For lives are taking everyday
Lots of families have been seperated because of this active call
Wives divorced husbands for fear of becoming widows
Children growing up with just faint memories of their fathers
Civil men having odd notions about single female soldiers
Still we crawl slowly under the scrubs for safety
Trying to infiltrate through enemy line
With the song of victory resounding in my head
"Hooray" shall we chorus after our demise in heaven
