I NEED TO TELL YOU

 

yes I remember 

I remember I told the truth but no one believed 

accused someone of robbing my biscuit 

4years old me could make a clear statement 

wisdom runs in my bloodline 

yes I remember 

I remember details of my childhood when I was 3

memories of events even till I clock 6

is anyone else like me or I’m weird 

how I swallowed a coin then later popped it

yes I remember 

how life was easy and carefree 

everything was graceful, even the weather 

love ruled the world, less hatred 

we live in end time now, look around 

yes I remember 

let me say this before my memory starts to fade 

I saw a space ship far back 2003

I dare not tell anyone because I’d be laughed at 

I’m certain Hafiz might not remember for we did see it together 

yes I remember 

how I love to stay young and small 

no growth, just be a child forever 

life has a way of playing tricks with your age 

the child in us constantly dies as we age
