WORDS OF A FOOL

it dawned on us so late

choices and downfall we create

nothing leaves without inscribing its mark

it’s karma, it’s pity-less strike

it fangs dents the skin

your loss, nature’s win

don’t forget we are bred by plants for manure

realest secret, so pure

but I need to tell you the words of a fool

stories you may not believe it’s true

the world’s aim is to make you docile

so you can fit the actual profile

just so you know, we are all pawns

strands of grass chopped out of a lawn

green for a while but later wither

sweet taste is temporary, life is bitter

the rich also cry, I profess

even the priest needs to confess

the thief that steals food is only hungry

millions are living in penury

listen to the words of a fool sternly

most people sleep at night on empty belly

it’s not a curse, we turned life to a race course

the only soothing part is death of cause

spirits languish when they are dead

why hate a brother because he’s on locks and dread

let people be, they are a reflection of their choice

keep your cool, we detest noise

the world has lost his humanity

only a few lives in humility

I have… and I’ve paid prices

it’s coming soon, the crises

  1. This poem hits hard because it doesn’t try to comfort the reader—it forces us to confront uncomfortable truths about life, society, and ourselves. I especially liked how you used simple but striking imagery to explore karma, inequality, mortality, and the loss of humanity. The recurring “words of a fool” feels ironic, because the speaker sounds more like a truth-teller than a fool. A thought-provoking piece that leaves the reader reflecting long after the last line.
