THE ROAD’S NOT TAKEN YET

the road’s not taken yet

a dare we should have felt

for man’s core enemy is competition

the most unnecessary obligation

the road’s not taken yet

thousands of arrow shot at my fishing net

for some, overtaken feels like a battle to death

let me be, I’d rather lay wreath

it’s life, a dangerous opium

wild and free like helium

just like a breathe, our time is passing

nothing is promised, none is lasting

the journey looks smooth but stony

your death is yours alone, no crony

although people need each other to survive

but you need to stay alive to get out of life alive

the road’s not taken yet

relax, take your time to get well

for many has tried and failed, six feet

lots have gone with their wit

the race is rocky as foretold

some gets to realize this when they are old

it’s just a destination none is destined for

beautifully, to our shallow graves we fall

from cradle to grave, our life is pre-planed

you can’t bribe death with rand

the road to success’ never taken

our foolishness makes it pain-staking

  1. This piece feels like a reminder that life isn’t a race, yet so many people destroy themselves trying to outrun others. Deep, reflective, and painfully honest.

The realism in this is heavy. Everybody’s chasing something, competing with someone, forgetting that none of us stay forever. Deep poem.
