THY PRAYERS

 

that’s you in the corner 

clutching to the rosary like a toddler 

praying profusely to the most high 

cause you want your dream to take flight 

that’s you in the edge 

crying as you mutter words in dirge 

singing and chanting all your souls out 

your prayer feels like a bout 

thy prayers feels unanswered 

your kneels feels sore and battered 

feels like heaven has shut it door

despite you crying and begging for more 

thy prayer is a little amiss 

try pray appropriately at least 

for heavens will not open till you say the right word

pray right to thy Lord 

sometimes, delays are not denials 

the whole scene could be a trial 

the long wait may feel too long 

you need to choose where you belong
