I WILL TRY AGAIN

 

it’s me against the world 

me against fate and destiny 

no matter how the story is foretold 

I will never fail 

no matter how many times I fall 

luck and progress may rise again me 

hate and envy may sew me a duvet 

I will never chorus “I failed”

even if the tides rise against me 

my sailing boast wiggles in wreckage 

sea water fills up the deck

I will try again 

even if my wheels comes off 

my cart tilts and my horses neigh in disbelief 

the finish line is about a mile ahead 

I won’t give up 

even when I constantly roll the dice 

and six doesn’t feel forthcoming 

days become numbered and hope feels faint

I will try again 

even when all strength is gone 

no morale to carry on in life’s struggles 

my bones are weak and my muscles aches 

I will try again 

even if life knocks me out in round one 

and the whole crowd goes boo 

so long there’s 1% fight left in me 

I will get up and try again 

even when I say “I love you”

and she walks away without looking back 

and it hurts deep down in my soul 

life is not for the weak 

even when I’m battered and incapacitated 

I have become a reject of the world 

so long there’s still breathe in my lungs 

I won’t give up
