MY CITY UNANNOUNCED

 

so they sailed in without remorse 

without pittance even in a little dose 

they pull down and took all that’s left 

leaving my sanity to melt 

they kept on taking and taking 

like leeches they kept on sucking 

not minding leaving me withered

my life will obviously become harder 

my city, my sanity… they care not 

unannounced they came to drive me nuts

people will break you beyond repair 

and mar you in your despair 

the world is vile and indispensable

a necessary evil in-disposable 

I sought comfort but found none 

our will is a torture, even for the nuns 

our hands soiled with guilt and disdain 

hatred has refused to make peace reign  

status, money and fame we all try to harness 

at the end of it all, everything is total emptiness
