I WAS NEVER READY
this I was never ready
a man’s soul whistles elegy
too much burden, too much weight
yet still, you’re tasked to procreate
I wish it could be paused
wished we could revisit the root cause
what else has life got to offer
I need to know the true definition of lovers
this adventure I seek not
certain responsibilities will drive you nut
the more a man grows, the less he speaks
some then conclude he is weak
nature tap me on my shoulder and whispers
“this age you are, nothing glitters”
“if you want to maintain sanity till you age”
“create a pact with me so you don’t hemorrhage”
so I set out for solitude
Ignoring the density and high magnitude
a place where I can rest in peace
away from the idiosyncrasies by all means
then I discovered the rendezvous
away from noises and taps on the roof
a place of comfort and therapy
my soul is at rest and I’m happy
nature whispers “you’re a man now”
“the world is full of clowns”
“in my bosom, you will find rest”
“i will never put you to test”
