I HOPE YOU UNDERSTAND

 

“A man is gotta be a man” that’s what they say 

even if he becomes the prey 

alas! his soul cries in pains 

let the cloud change, let it rain 

his bones goes weary and weak 

but he gets up to make a life every week 

you’d hardly see him down  

he’s too busy, his family needs to wear a crown 

he carries the weight of the world on his shoulders 

he smiles continually so nobody bothers 

seals off his emotions so he does not cry 

continuously fails, and continually try 

suppressed by tantrums 

yet he chooses to stand firm in action 

 forgive your father, this is his first time being a dad 

age and time came too fast, he is still a lad 

he lays awake at night with no sleep

stares in space, his thoughts so deep

he needs to get a life by all means

it’s only when he sleeps he founds peace 

I hope you understand this spot 

where he broods so his soul don’t go to rot 

a man can sit down here for centuries 

this is where he heals his injuries
