PENITENTIARY
life and it’s sanctity
humans and their insatiability
a rolling stone gathers no moss
eventually we all run at a loss
a rigmarole on life’s coda
helpless pursuit of happiness amongst one another
an embalmed soul destined for ruin
like carbon monoxide and it’s fume
our limitations starts from our thoughts
lucky is given, grace is never bought
the rich also cry in their mansions
no one is immune to death’s electrocutions
a graceful heart with a broken smile
pains will fade away in a short while
but the scars remain to remind you you are human
no one escapes hades, not even the wisest man
like a game of chess is time and tides
they hop on us and rides
who can escape the claws of death?
it comes unannounced even with threat
our penitentiary is this breathe
wasted years amassing wealth
I hope you still have the graffiti on your wall
“sickness, pain and death are inevitable when they call”
