one day…

the charcoal woman’s child will wear white 

people will be marveled 

but it’s the price she once paid

now, the child’s future has paved 

one day…

you’ll look back and smile 

you’d shed tears of joy knowing how far you’ve come 

the pain, sickness and hard work 

all have finally paid off 

one day…

you will have the courage to walk away

the relationship has been toxic all along 

you give and give, they take and take without remorse

your energy has drained over years 

one day…

death will come and soothe your pains 

you’ll no longer need to cry again 

it’s warm embrace will give you lift 

your tears will dry as you beam with smiles 

one day…

you will be celebrated 

people will troop out to welcome you 

your name on bill boards and magazines 

until then, keep your heads up high 

one day…

your life will flash before your eyes 

that hot tears will stream down because you haven’t restitute 

or preferably, you may die in your sleep 

or the worst of all, missing and never found 

one day…

you may regret it all

all your past deeds and waka waka 

you’ll stand and face the judgement in silence 

this day is a must, no one escapes it
