OPIUM
human and existence
wants and cravings
anguish and strives
honesty and devilishness
we wake up in shackles everyday
dogmatic retribution in phases
our hands tied behind our backs
religions and doctrines are the opium of people
night falls and we go to sleep
owls hoot but the forest cares not
irritations of our minds sprouts conceded hatred
we are far from purity and divinity
the doses we are fed with everyday
our Achilles tendon yells our weaknesses
our humanity cries out but no one to comfort
this opium livid without questioning
we’ve been fed too much nonsense
traditions and cultures bleeds without care
foreign religion has been the weapon ever since
an opium we swallow with hook, line and sinker

This is probably the deepest piece of poetry I’ve read lately. Your choice of words are apt and the messages are as captivating as should be.👌
ReplyDeleteI don’t even know how I wrote it lol. All I know is that for detailed expressions, words are never enough to express them
