THE FEAR IN US ALL
countless fears we grow up to feel
embracing it all as life tosses us around
age knows no limit when nature plays
we all are tiny spec in life’s spectrum
the fear of death like we never lived
rejections and unaccomplishment
the fear of breathe, ceasing unannounced
lungs collapsing, heart’s a mess
the fear of losing the one you love
life’s shitty, death takes it all
the fear of falling out of love
heartbroken, shedding tears in a falling rain
the fear of dying without fulfillment
being ignored when you needed comfort the most
the fear of leaving my new bride
dying way too early
fear of crying without tears
heartache causes blood pressures to rise
fear of nurturing children that aren’t mine
DNA revealing the truth at my old age
fear of dying in silence
nobody listening to my cries
fear of been shot in the eyes
means beauty is no longer in my eyes as a beholder
fear of not seeing my loved ones again
cause I’m isolated in a secluded island
fear of being called a rapist
an innocent me, caught up in mistaken identity
fear of being defeated in a duel
when I’ve boastfully announced my victory
fear of being labeled a liar
when all I’ve said was the truth
fear of skydiving
then the parachute refuses to pop
fear of swimming in an ocean
then I’m greeted welcome by sharks
fear of not appreciating all I’ve got
meanwhile, I’ve got it all
the fear that pride may result to my downfall
I pray for grace always
