THE SOULS

 

judgement stands clear 

your time is up my dear 

stand not in fear if you’ve been fair 

be patient in the long queue by the rear 

can you hear souls crying out in anguish?

languishing for breath like vanquish 

it’s their deeds that brought them here 

stand straight on the line, your turn is near 

why the sudden sweat on your forehead?

your heart beat thunders but you’re already dead 

your legs are shaking, who goes you

see you jittering like a fool 

you had all the time to make restitution

but you prefer to sit all day on the cushion

thinking “life is long”

forgetting time is of essence, no one is strong 

do you need to waste time on the line  

you already know where you align 

just pull off from the line and head for the lake 

the engulfing inferno is waiting to burn you on a stake
