LOVING A MONSTER

 

different strokes in

landing on that soft alpine skin 

you scream in pain 

but you know he’s after your life, run off lane

I know you love him and it’s obvious 

loving a monster is disastrous 

you’re loving and caressing the noose 

your neck is up for lose 

you cry indoor but smile on social media 

oppressing your cronies, that’s the idea 

posting captions to make them praise your marriage 

picture yourself in six feet, yeah! that’s the image

prolonged domestic violence can reconfigure a being

make you feel with time you will win 

praying earnestly he might change 

time is of essence, why waste your age 

keep loving your monster because you’re adamant 

you’ve been advised million times but you feel we all rant 

advice is strictly for those alive and loved 

but you listened less, and you keep getting mauled 

 

it’s better you have a deep rethinking 

for if he kills you, your whole future goes sinking 

keep loving a monster, we won’t tell you to stop 

time will school you when you choke on breathe and gasp
