ONE DAY I MAY DROP DEAD
hidden as it can be
some people are just angels in disguise
they create balance behind close doors
where no one sees what they do
they fight to create peace
settling disputes for human sake
but we are yet to see their contributions
because they don't tell a soul
soldiers up at the war front
settling rugged dispute just for us
dirging on empty stomachs in trenches
gathering strength to fight on
they lay awake all night for us
welding their third grade amunitions against enemies
they care not even when it jams
their survival adrenalin is high just on the thoughts of their families back home
but government uses them as puns
just for their stupid political ambitions
our gallant soldiers knows this for sure
"obey the first order" blindly makes them refocus
Ade holds fast his rifle
he aims for an enemy and about to fire
but his superior stops him and say
"Kai, aboki, kill no one, order from above"
so the dead soldiers who are gone fought for nothing?
which order from which above?
when will we realize that our lives means nothing to them
I mean those at the top calling shots
these soldiers wakes up everyday
praying it's should not be their last
they pray earnestly to whatever they believe in
every terrorist is also wise in tactics too
"someday, they will all drop dead"
"all my gallant brothers will die someday"
"one day, I may drop dead too"
Ade whispers as he shed a tear at the funeral

May the Almighty continue to protect our soldiers
ReplyDeleteI echo the biggest Amen
DeleteJust my thoughts everytime I hear bandits Killing soldiers, they are someone's family too☹️
ReplyDeleteThey are someone's life support, someone's groom to be 😢. It's so sad they are just puns in government's game of chess.
