ON THE LONELY STREET

on the lonely street

I walk alone home in abject silence 

listening to my heart as it races 

thoughts and tears in silence as it rings out

on the lonely street

my legs shakes and vibrate 

my footsteps loud enough to be heard from afar 

as I reduce my pace in heartbreak

as tears streams down my face

my failures comes alive 

all my wasted years living recklessly 

now my lover is gone, never to return 

my life has terribly shattered 

my ego has gotten the best part of me

as the humanity in me chunked off without remorse 

I stagger off in shame 

me, a future that ended too soon

a mother's pride laid in the dust 

I tried recalling where I took the wrong turn

oh! shit, my wobble foot caught a stone

on the lonely street I crumbled beside an alley 

everything seems hopeless as I stare at the long road

how could I be so selfish and cruel?

gone too soon, I'm already resting in pieces
