A PIECE OF ME

each time I see pains and suffering 

when I meet people going through battles 

either mental or physical

I give a piece of myself away 

anytime babies stare at me 

I see an angel in their eyes smiling 

I smile back heavenly 

a piece of me I give away 

in the midst of unsettled minds

angers flying as tempers roar 

this engulfing inferno must be put out 

a piece of me follows suit

a dear female friend sobbing 

her lover tore her heart to pieces and absconded

she calls me for comfort and soothing

I give a piece of myself away 

my heart bleeds as i saw an aged woman hawking

she's so old, even Lord knows she's no longer fit

I patronize and I over pay 

a piece of me given away in joy

I try all the time to share happiness in my own little way

even when I'm sad, I still post happiness 

I guess I can control my thoughts, but what about others?

a piece of happiness always find it's way back to me
