you had goals to be won 

the life you promised yourself 

those awards you imagined on the shelf 

not once did you think to quit 

your chins raised, you have your guts and wit 

the future you pictured 

despite your present like a miniature 

every tiny details you adore 

failure you abhor 

the tomorrow you see glory 

today’s pain did not make you worry
