TIME DID’NT FLY
our hearts were young
our feet sprung
we were built for these and more
mouths and tongues never sore
we made kites and spread to the heavens
returning home at quarter past eleven
the muddy huts cool and welcoming
it’s like a feast for homecoming
our thatched roof, sun proofing
muddy walls, bullet proofing
choice-less and carefree
we play more under the Baobab tree
mother nature gave the best bosom
the coolness of the stream was awesome
there we have our routine bath
diving naked irrespective of your mate
gathering mud and clay to create
taking our time was worth the wait
with our fingers we create the best
so long our feet was wet
time didn’t fly, we savored
childhood memories we can’t avoid
the best part of life is growing up
and here we are, already at the top
