MAZE

 

a terrible route on my mind 

an escape route I can’t find 

meandering in a confined spot 

everyone thinking it is a sport 

I have searched for possibilities 

sometimes I feel like a nonentity 

my nerves sending odd signals to my brain

confusion sets in, my morale drains 

the world offers no pity 

be vigilant when you see a treaty 

every mind is built to be selfish 

they can’t take half of what they can dish 

once you’re locked in, no way out 

speak the truth always but open less your mouth 

praises makes the heart merry 

be careful when they repeat “I love you dearly”

good wine gladdens the heart 

makes you smile, your brain light like kite 

be careful the soul that keeps filling your cup 

his intentions are dicey, you better throw up 

everyone loves selfishly 

no one wants to sacrifice secretly 

be careful when a hand pats you in the back 

read intentions, know when to spark 

the world is a soccer field 

thousands of strong players have been killed 

be careful where you thread 

this life is a maze, everyone will transgress for a piece of bread
